Goodbye 2010

Where has this year gone? Wow did 2010 fly by....it is very true what people say "when you have children they grow up so fast" is that ever true. Gavin will be 3 months tomorrow and I can't believe my last baby is that big already! Olivia is just over 2 and she is changing everyday...sometimes I just stop and laugh at the things she says. Oh my children are a great joy in my life. So we are ringing in 2011 at home...with sick kids, glass of wine (beer for Kris), Indian food, hockey game and the ball drop ...hopefully I can stay awake. Happy New Year to you and your family. Lots of love ::

Took some photos of Gavin...he can't run for the hills yet....Olivia and I went to the park before it got dark...she knows how to run :) xo

Christmas the most wonderful time of the year!

We had such a beautiful Christmas this year..4 days of family gatherings! I know my mom was watching all the joy from heaven and she was in all our hearts. By the end I got the flu, my daughter has a cold and now my son has the flu...but we are all on the mend.  I wanted to share some photos I took with my new camera! Love that thing...the poor kids will be running for the hills now. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas like we did. xo

TV stand

Being sick with the flu right after 4 days of non stop family events sure takes a lot out of you. I had a wonderful Christmas with my beautiful family even with the kids fighting a cold and now us all getting the flu....blah! I have been spending a lot of time downstairs cuddling with sick kiddies on the couch....which is driving me to get my downstairs finished. I don't have the energy to move furniture right at this moment but I do have energy to look online for ideas:) Once everyone is feeling better let the shopping begin.
I found this TV stand which I am loving....who doesn't love high-gloss white and better yet from ikea !
Christmas pictures to follow....xo Cindy

Beautiful Home...Beautiful Ladies

Friday night, good food, Christmas baking, wonderful friends equals one fun ladies night. Such a good group of girls I feel so blessed to have them in my life. I had to share some photos taken by the amazing Michele and the beautiful host Adrienne. Take a look at her blog here adrienne-mariedesigns.
Hopefully you all are spending time with friends and family...isn't that the best part of Christmas after all?

What a coat of paint can do!

When we were away Kris had the front tile and fireplace painted. Instead of replacing the tile just put a fresh coat of paint and voila looks brand new! Glossy Grey Mist beautiful color...
The basement was also painted...so much easier to get done when two kiddies aren't running around!

Christmas PJ's!

I just love when the kids are cozy in their pj's on the couch or by christmas tree! Olivia got these really cute pj's from my mom 2 years ago and now Gavin is wearing them! So I thought I would compare pictures of them. My mom would of loved to see Gavin wearing the pj's she got for Olivia......

Holiday joy

We are back from our Vegas getaway and we had a wonderful time. This was Gavin's first major trip and he was such a good boy. We rented a car this time which worked out so much better...waiting 45 mins with a baby for a taxi is not my idea of fun. I love Las Vegas at christmas time...all the lights and amazing displays really put me in the holiday mood. We did lots of christmas shopping as well. Kris and Gavin had some bonding time to themselves which was really nice to see. We missed Olivia but we knew she was having fun at Oma and Opa's house. (They spoil her and she knows it!) So I am now in full holiday mode getting the house ready, the tree up and more baking. Here are a few photos from our trip.

Afternoon project

Ok I know I should be packing....but blah I'm sick of packing...
I wanted to do something fun instead plus Sarah's House marathon is on so at least I'm doing something while watching t.v....so I don't feel too lazy! I had tons of extra pinecones leftover from Olivia's birthday party that I wanted to reuse in my Christmas decor. I think martha stewart has wonderful craft ideas so I thought I would check there first. I found tons of things you can do with pinecones but I thought these gilded pinecones were simple yet chic for the holidays. I will also stack them in a glass vase and do some in silver. Adding natural elements to any decor always looks terrific and even better when you do it yourself.
I better get these done before Olivia wakes up and gets gold paint all over the place. Try a simple project this Christmas!

Gilded Pinecones How-To1. In a ventilated area, line a surface with plastic and then paper. Secure a rod across an open cardboard box.
2. Insert a screw eye into base of each pinecone. Attach a 10-inch-long wire to each screw eye.
3. Stir gold paint. Wearing gloves, dip pinecones to coat; hang on rod in box. Let dry (at least 1 day).
4. Remove wire; thread with ribbon.

Three years and counting...

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband. I love you with all my heart and soul. You are such an amazing man that cares so much for me and our children. You have given me two beautiful children that make me so happy and blessed. I am looking forward to many more years with my man and many more adventures! We are leaving for Vegas in a few days and my gift is a shopping trip to Tiffany's at the Bellagio. Oh I'm spoiled but every mama deserved to be spoiled... especially by her man on their anniversary!!
