When I knew I was having a little boy I was so excited to do the nursery! Right away I started looking in design magazines, books and online for ideas. I wanted to do a more simple modern nursery as I already had done a shabby vintage style one for Olivia. Plus I wanted to do something different and step out of my comfort zone. First we started with the paint color... the before color was way too bold for my taste. Since I love Benjamin Moore I went with a warm blue grey called Gray Owl. I just love the color and it will still look good when I update the nursery to a toddler room down the road. I thought simple wall color with pops of bold colors through out the space...in the art work and accessories. Since my hubby is a builder I wanted him to do something special on the walls. Boy did he surprise me when I got home from work. We talked about doing stripes along the wall but I love what he did and it is a beautiful feature wall in the room! There was also a nook in the corner of the room that was just empty space. My hubby decided to make some shelves and now it is useful...plus extra storage is always needed! All new castings, trim and baseboards were also done and all painted in Cloud White. Now the fun begins...all the shopping and design elements:)
