We (Kris) has been working hard on the new house. Long days and even weekends to get it done for his family. (have I told you what a great guy he is?) The drywall is going up this weekend..in fact right now! I couldn't be more excited..now the fun starts for me :)
Thanks to Pinterest I have been finding tons of ideas and sometimes overwhelmed with all the possibilities. But I know one thing of sure I am going for the modern/industrial style..actually I'm pretty much obsessed. Here are some amazing inspiration.
Aren't these wonderful? You can find more photos and ideas via pinterest. (all photos from pinterest)
I love this fabric michael miller children at play. It will be my inspiration for Olivia's bedroom. Wall colour is Benjamin Moore venetian marble...just the perfect amount of lilac..soft and pretty. Visit my pinterest board for more fun ideas.
This is a bit of our kitchen design : polished carrara marble back splash found at home depot of all places. I love the colour and it really sets the tone for the kitchen. The grey tile is going to be the main tile through out the house as well as the real wood floors.
The cabinet colour is going to Benjamin Moore white dove and I am still on the fence about which grey I will be choosing for the rest of the house. Any ideas are greatly appreciated :)
I found these industrial pendants to hang above the kitchen island. I love size and scale of them. They are going to really make a statement!
I've also been hunting home sense for light fixtures. You can find amazing designer ones there for half the price!
Found one very similar to this for my dining room.
Found one like this one from restoration hardware. Believe me I did not pay $895 for it!!
I will hopefully continue to update as much as I can before the big move. I am looking forward to making this house a home and staying for years to come :) Happy weekend!

I love you to the moon and back
I had fun decorating for valentine's day this year. Usually I don't go overboard but this year Olivia was very excited in helping me with the projects. Let me tell you 3 is a good age!! A quick trip to Michaels, a few leftover party supplies and we had our decor. My favourite part was the fabric embroidery hoops I can make those all day long :)
This morning I asked Olivia if she wanted heart pancakes and she said "just like last time" I said you remembered having heart pancakes before and of course she said "yea" Now that made my morning...holidays are for memories and when your kids remember the little details you did for them...ahhh fills my heart. Olivia you are a gem.
so the guilt of skipping my workout class all went away... I sat with the kids and enjoyed breakfast! |

Birthday in Birch Bay
It was my hubby's birthday last week...thirty three on the third! We decided a trip away for two nights was just what we (he) needed. Kris loves Birch Bay and well I love the outlets so it was the perfect trip for us. Olivia had a sleepover with Oma & Opa and we got to spend one on one time with Gavin. We had birthday lunch at Olive Garden and just relaxed at the time share with a few good drinks and laughs. Happy Birthday Love so glad I got to spend it with my two favourite boys :) xo

Aloha Maui
We had this trip planned for over a year and finally it had come. I hadn't been to Hawaii in years so I was very very excited...nervous for the long flight but excited for sun and sand. We stayed 10 days on the beautiful island of Maui and I'm pretty sure I want to move there. The weather was amazing the whole time and the kids adjusted very well. All the sun and playing had them sleeping in no time for naps and bed time. Kris and I were able to go off for a few dates and I was able to meet up with my sister (who was also in Maui at the same time with her inlaws) for an afternoon. Lots of sand, sunshine, ice cream and shaved ice, good food, cards at night time, walks on the beach, amazing sun sets and memories that only a lifetime are made of....
And we came home to this....
Winter finally hit! The snow. the wind. the cold. These photos taken before the real storm hit. We stayed indoors for 3 days trying to stay warm and cozy. Just a bit of cabin fever started to set it ;)
Happy New Years! Drinks and cards on the deck |
Yes I ate the whole thing |
full of sand and loved the salt water.. |
Gav loves getting tossed in the air..me on the other hand I'm having a heart attack (please don't drop him) |
