Designer Spotlight: Samantha Pynn

Sign. Some people are just too cool. Not only does Samantha Pynn have amazing taste in design she also has her own HGTV show, Pure Design. She is Style At Home contributing design editor...which happens to be my favorite design magazine! Her method is to rethink what you have, buy vintage, and try to make the best choices in green products for you and your family.  I have been truly inspired by her when designing the new nursery and re-doing my daughter's room. She has fun and fresh style for all rooms in the house. Here are a few of her designs that I love...doesn't she inspire you?

What a stunning light fixture!
Love the paint color on the walls..BM Bird's Egg and the chairs found on craigslist and redone!

My inspiration for a nursery. Love the modern feel with clean, simple lines. The dresser was redone and the crib is from Ikea. The artwork behind the chair is left over wall paper cut into animal shapes. Such a great idea!

Cute boys play room. Note the Monte Luca glider! My fav...
Also love the stripes and the storage/window seat..which is also Ikea.

True beauty! Love the chairs redone in a lavender faux-ostrich leather fabric with nail head trim detail.

For the love of Fall...

Anyone that knows me knows I love Autumn...leaves changing colors, cool crisp air at night, pumpkins, baking yummy fall treats, birthday parties for all the kids, full moons, pumpkin spiced lattes, and of course Halloween! So as we head into the end of September I can't help but feel full of joy and happiness. My little baby is due in 2 days and it's the best time of the year! What more could a girl ask for?
Pumpkin Spiced Cookies...a must at Fall time!

At the Apple Barn! Olivia with her buddies Levi and Boston

My mom's amazing banana bread recipe..for the fall I add pumpkin and spices to it.

I'm in love with....

Etsy and everything it has to offer! I am in the final countdown until the baby comes and I realize I am lacking artwork on the walls in the nursery....well all over my house for that matter. Artwork and my pictures always seem to be the last things I get too...
Here are a few finds on Etsy that I'm in love with and I can't wait for my prints to arrive so I can finish the nursery and show it off!

Look "whooo's" turning two.....

My little girl is turning two! So hard to believe... I wanted to have a party for her before the new baby came so I had one 2 weeks early. I love planning parties and coming up with new and different ideas. I had lots of help from all the other wonderful blogs out there that truly inspired me. I decided to do a woodland forest theme since I love birds, owls and nature. I'm pretty sure my little girl loved it too. We had beautiful weather and I was so glad the kids could just play outside. The kids painted birdhouses as part of their goodie bags. For the food I wanted to make kid friendly "forest"food. We had chocolate birds nest, pumpkin spiced cookies (a must at fall time), "pink" toadstool cupcakes, gnome-made granola, marshmellow smores, and of course candy. I did a few adult friendly dishes as well:) Everything went very well and I am so glad I was able to still have a party for Olivia. She only turns two once...

The invite

Welcome friends!

Olivia loved the slide

The kids did a wonderful job on the birdhouses.

Chocolate birdnests..so simple and fun to make.

Candy and drink table with the gnome-made granola.

I had to have an owl and I made all the toadstools in the jars.

Marshmellow Smores

Every kid loves a cupcake!

Olivia enjoying the treats!
